My Creative Space

I think I may have a short attention span this week - I have too many things either on the sticks or hook... again.

Here is a sample.
Something for my step-sister

Something for my sister-in-law

Something for my niece

Something for my Mum

I have actually finished knitting the cushion cover for my Mum, but I do need to sew the seams and add a zip before I post it off to her.

I am really excited about what I am endeavouring to do with this vintage (gifted) fabric next week!

Stay tuned... :)

Check out more great stuff at Kirsty's!

What fabric is this???

A while ago I bought this fat quarter because I fell in love with the fabric.

I was going to make it into a couple of little somethings for Christmas pressies. Unfortunately, I am a bit tardy. I had every intention of going back to the Craft Depot to buy myself some, but since then they have had a massive sale, and while I have made other purchases, I have not seen my joyful birdy fabric since! Sniff. So, now I will need to make my goodies out of some other fabric (an excuse to go shopping perhaps?)

If you know what this fabric is called, who made it, or where I can get my hands on some, please leave a comment! (Said in a begging tone). Thanks :)
Edit: The fabric is part of Paula Prass' Flights of Fancy range and is called "Par Avion". Thanks Karen!

Beautiful Giveaways

There are some very talented people out there, and the more I delve into the land of blogs, the more interesting ideas and people I come across. I wish I had time enough to try out all the great things I have been seeing. As for me, I have been knitting furiously (something for my Mum) and trying to get housework done with a extra-curious Jellyfish "researching" anything and everything, a teething Little Clam (who is not his usual happy self), and now a sick Mr. Kelp. Ahh well.

Here are some great giveaways this week...

Christina at A Little Bird Told Me has an amazingly beautiful necklace from her designs to give away. I love the freedom depicted in the cloud.

Dash Robin has an eclectic mix of things that she has created (Brooches, an oven mitt, and a bag) plus a book and a couple of bits and pieces. Check out her groovy photos at the beginning of the post. :)

And while I have your attention, check out Anna's beautiful hankies... I love the "lovely" one!

And now, I need to go and find some more yarn!

Have a great weekend!

Flower bearer's necklace

I made two of these for a friends wedding that is being held in New Hampshire, USA in a little over 2 months.

They are for the flower bearers to wear (Not flower girls, these gorgeous girls are too old for that!). I also made 3 necklaces for the bridesmaids, and one for the Jr. bridesmaid. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of them! I am hoping that I will get a shot or two from the bride and groom after the wedding of the bridesmaids wearing them. (Hint, hint!) :)

My First Creative Space

My first creative space...
My first attempt at knitting a lacy pattern.
My first attempt at crochet.

A surprise for a friend. Hope she likes it :)
I will blog more on this when it is finished (and after I have shipped it to her!)
